Objectives

HiSOPE aims to develop new organic semiconductor (OSC) materials and to innovate with a original platform of high peformance organic devices and to integrate them into demonstrators targeting applications such as high data-rate optical interconnects and wireless light communication.

Eco-friendly HiSOPE materials

At the material level, HiSOPE targets :

  • High-performance organic semiconductor materials to replace toxic and critical-supply-chain materials used in III-V semiconductor devices.
  • Advanced simulation tools will provide new capability to model and predict device operation, linking material properties to optoelectronic performance.

Broadband HiSOPE devices

At the device level, HiSOPE targets sustainable manufacture and recycling of :

  • 1GHz bandwidth OLEDs
  • High-speed organic photodetectors
  • Ultra short-pulse Electrically-driven organic lasers,
  • Transmitters and receivers for waveguide interconnects, optical wireless communications and sensing.

HiSOPE processes

HiSOPE wll apply and developp new low-carbon-footprint processes such as Vapor-based additive fabrication, nanoimprint patterning, ALD encapsulation wich will minimize materials use and embedded energy and simplify recycling.
